Troy Stewart
The Windsor Player is the latest creation of the enigmatic and versatile Troy Stewart, long time touring guitar player for Snow Patrol and member of the recently acclaimed super group Tired Pony, which includes members of Snow Patrol, R.E.M. and Belle & Sebastian. With passionate dedication and a lifetime pursuit of the perfect melodic anthem, Troy has combined his personal poetic journey with the phenomenal talents of some of the world's most respected musical artists, resulting in the self-titled, debut album from The Windsor Player.
Recorded at The Trench studios in Portland, Oregon, The Windsor Player is a masterful blend of soulful country, haunting lyrics and powerful instrumental ballads encompassing a surprisingly eclectic range of musical genres. From the evocative refrains of the opening track "Release," to the crashing power ballad "Empty Well," culminating with the melancholy nostalgia of "Big Texas Sky," Troy has woven together a lifetime of musical influences, such as Johnny Cash, Elton John, Pink Floyd, Electric Light Orchestra and Tom Petty into a fresh and original labor of love.
